Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development (CRED) was created to help educate Coloradans about fracking’s energy, economic and environmental benefits. Even though the oil and natural gas industry has utilized fracking for over 70 years, many Coloradans admit to not knowing or understanding what it involves. We’re here to change that.
Our message is simple and clear: Get the facts before you make a decision about fracking.
Who We Are
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Noble Energy, two leaders in the Colorado oil and natural gas community, formed CRED to provide scientifically sound information about fracking. CRED is a 501 (c) 6 non-profit organization governed by a board of directors and counseled by an Advisory Committee comprised of former elected officials, community, civic leaders, and non-energy industry representatives, such as farmers, ranchers, and educators, who have a strong commitment to the state of Colorado and its local communities.
By 2017, another six companies joined CRED and its effort to educate the public on the fracking process. Working in communities across Colorado, those independent companies – Bayswater Exploration and Production, Extraction Oil & Gas, Liberty Oilfield Services, PDC Energy, SRC Energy, and Whiting Petroleum – joined Anadarko and Noble to provide information to the public about the economic and environmental benefits of safe and responsible oil and natural gas development.
