Here in Colorado, when it comes to fracking and water protection, our state goes the extra mile.
Colorado has some of the toughest regulations in the nation to ensure that fracking is done responsibly. We were the first state to require groundwater sampling both before and after drilling. But it doesn’t stop there. Our state also requires that wells have extra layers of steel casing and cement to prevent any leaks.
Are these regulations effective? Studies say yes. Five accredited studies published confirm: Fracking does not contribute to groundwater contamination across the country.
